Dear Portland,
Finally the rain let up today. Still a little colder then preferred, but blue skies and sunshine all the same.
Like I said yesterday I planned to make a cake today and I followed through. Chocolate cake with cream cheese frosting. It is delicious. I gave half of it to neighbor Dillon in exchange for milk, lettuce, and orange, and a couple tomatoes. He is going out of town for a week and didn't want it to go bad. AWESOME. I just ran out of milk and lettuce. And I got rid of half a cake I would not have been able to eat all by myself.
I don't remember where this cake recipe came from but I'm keeping it. I really like it because it's not super rich and heavy. And since I'm not really a fan of cake in general, it just tastes really clean and natural if that makes sense. I took a lot of pictures today in the kitchen because for once I remembered that I own a digital camera now. I just want to share some of them instead of write.
My sister and I just came up with a plan to have a series of bake sales on your fine streets when I get home Portland. It is going to be so much fun! Details will be made available when the time comes. And all my musical friends, you should come by and play a song for a cookie! It will be awesome. I"M SO STOKED AND YOU SHOULD BE TOO!
p.s. I have been listening to Patsy Cline and Jim Reeves all day and it has been so lovely.

- The Learning Curve of an Adult Child is singularly me. I suppose it's about the trials and tribulations involved in what "they" call being a grown-up. But maybe it's just about things that happen and things I think about... (Also, that is my computer generated pirate name) My other blog, [hap]hazard, is my best friend and I. We enjoy adventuring.
