At Long Last
Dear Portland,
I have finally put my etsy shop together. No more saying I will to do it tomorrow, no more excuses, I have added what I have photos of and am ready to sell! A few more things need to be done of course, like make a banner and get photos of all my leather things, but what I have is up and it feels awesome!

Solidifying Plans And It Feels So Good
Dear Portland,
India is a go! The 17th to the 28th of March I will be fulfilling dreams of Holi, discovering new ones, and being bombarded by the most intense experience of my life so far. I am so stoked and totally freaked. I have the best damn sister in the whole damn world for dealing with my freak outs and working very hard to figure out the dates so that we both are happy. Weeks of back and forth mix ups and unclear emails finally looks like it is paying off and we are both getting exactly what we want. So amazing.
I am so happy. I have been making books like a mad woman also. There is a trunk show/artist showcase that I am being featured in at the boutique where I work. I brought my books and computer sleeves in today and my boss/owner/friend helped me price my stuff out and I am so surprised by how much she is confident they will sell for. Yay!
I am also going to get my taxes done this week. Awesome!
In other news, I went to see Nels Cline play at the Doug Fir on Sunday night and I think I broke my jaw when it fell to the floor and stayed there for both of the outstanding sets he played.

A Day of Blank Books
Dear Portland,
THANK YOU!
You were so good to me last week!
PicoAccuardi wants me to teach kids knitting classes!
Flora is having a show I will be participating in I believe.
I SOLD a book that was at Flora.
I officially have enough money to buy a ticket to India!!
And today was sooooo productive.
Here are some pictures of what I accomplished today:
The first two are true to color and texture while the other ones, not so much...
So I'm really excited about these projects and that they were started and finished. And I am all inspired and creatively charged. I just want to order a crap ton of paper and keep going!

busy, Busy, BUSY!
Dear Portland,
So much for communication reform...
I have a valid excuse this time. Well at least I think it's valid and I suppose that's all that counts.
I HAVE BEEN SO BUSY I ENTIRELY FORGOT I EVEN HAVE A BLOG. Seriously. I haven't had a day off from work since DECEMBER. So today was the first day I even thought about blogging or clicking on my little bookmark that takes me to my blogger homepage.
But I truly have been outstandingly slammed with work which makes me equally slammed with exhaustion. There it is. My shamefully overused excuse and attempt at making myself feel better about being so neglectful. The truth is, there has been plenty to write about. Anywhere from stories about retail hell to the cutest kids kissing each other in aftercare and talking about boy/girl sleepovers at 5 years old! My posts to follow will include such events.
A quick update about things:
Finnegan's was fun as always.
Now I work at Finnegan's Village Toys (basically the same thing just in Bridgeport Village which is totally disgusting, but it's only 3 days a week so I will deal).
Flora remodeled! (come in for some tea)
Waldorf has been taking up much of my time this month (big money!).
Much less nannying for the coolest boys ever (sad).
Finally back to the Dyeworks with the wonderful inspiring ladies and their yarns.
I AM GOING TO INDIA IN MARCH!!
I think that is good enough for now. As I said the last 3 months have been utter insanity and I will be posting more now. At least I hope so. But I will not promise because, as we all know, I'm not very good at keeping my promises...

Shut Your Mouth And Keep Walking
Dear Portland,
You are so weird and sometimes mean.
I was sitting outside of my work (appropriately perched more than 10 feet from any door) desperately smoking a cigarette before my lunch break ended. It was really cold. I'm sure I looked cold and slightly unhappy and kind of odd on those steps to a doorway that didn't lead anywhere. I was just looking around at the people and stuff just smoking and minding my own business when these two bro's start walking towards me talking and then just as they start to pass me one of them says "Sorry, I don't have any change."
Ummmm....EXCUSE ME?!! Do I look homeless to you?!! I didn't even say anything to you!! SERIOUSLY?! You are a jerk and either you are so self-involved you didn't even look at the person sitting on the steps (out of the way of foot traffic and harsh winter winds for a reason!) or you are just an ass and thought you were being super hilarious and that if you made me laugh I would be impressed by you and what? Catch up to you and invite you and your friend to a motel room? REALLY?! I'm not even going to mention the compassionless mindset you have to mock a group of people that are less fortunate then you and have no choice but to berate their own diginity and ask for help from indignant assholes like you.
Just an FYI, girls don't really appreciate being confused with a bum.

3am Looks A Lot Like 3pm...
Dear Portland,
I managed to successfully avoid everything I hate about Halloween and actually have some fun last night. I stayed out far too late without knowing, I ate too much candy, and smoked too many cigarettes. My joint costume turned out well and all in all I didn't mind staying up forever and half.
My life is about to get super busy. With my part time position locked in at, Finnegan's Toys & Gifts, I can get my schedule for the rest of the week worked out. It includes nannying twice a week, working at Pico Accuardi Dyeworks, some substituting at Waldorf, and a possible shift here and there at Flora. So this is going to be a very very busy season for me. Hopefully I can save up some money to visit my sister in India some time before she comes back to the states. I want to go so bad and experience what she is experiencing. It sounds amazing and I will make it happen!
p.s. oatmeal chocolate chip cookies just came out of the oven and the whole house smells completely delicious.
